Sorting out the dates

At long last, we have made a start on sorting out the dates, for when we are hoping to do the John O’Groats to Lands End cycle. Mike as just filled in a holiday form. If they OK it, we will be doing the cycle between the 9th and 22nd August 2009.

We now have a Garmin Edge 705 GPS

We now have a Garmin Edge 705 GPS, which we got from Wiggle, which cost us £323.99. We went for the Garmin Edge 705 MTB Performance Package, which comes with GB mapping for OS/Road content for Great Britain and also a Heart rate monitor chest strap.

Think we need to get a GPS

We have made up our minds, after doing the Peterborough to London cycle. We really need to get a good GPS. Before doing the John O’Groats to Lands End cycle. To stop us from getting lost. The one we’re hoping to get is the Garmin Bike Edge 705.

Our third and longest training cycle

We did our third and longest training cycle so far. We decided to cycle from Peterborough to London. Watch our vlog, to see if we made it all the way…

Our second training cycle

We cycled from Gordon’s home, in Little Bytham to Rutland Water. We then cycled the long way around. Which is 23 miles. The shorter way, around it, is 17 miles. Just in case, you wanted to know. By the time, we had both cycled back to Gordon’s house. We had done, just over 42 miles. Which took us 3 hours and 43 minutes. Our average speed, was 11.2 mph.
