Fund raising for the NAS

Our chosen charity for this cycle is the National Autistic Society. A charity set up to champion the rights and interests of over half a million people with autism and to ensure that they and their families receive quality services appropriate to their needs.

We’re aiming for £700, but any donations are happily welcome.
Please show your support, and donate online at www.justgiving.com/endtoend09.

Ordered OS maps

We have just ordered the following Ordnance Survey maps:-

Route is coming along nicely

We have made a very good start on planning the route. We should have a draft copy of the route on-line this weekend.

Once we’re fully happy with the route, we will then have the fun job of booking the accommodation.

We have joined the CTC

We have now joined the CTC (Cyclists’ Touring Club).  Since they do a very good End to End cycling pack.

The pack contains three detailed routes for this classic ride.  It also a general information section, which includes guidance on which maps to use to complement the route sheets, advice on training, food and fitness and, most importantly, how to get yourself and bike to/from the start and finish points by train.

More information about the End to End pack, can be found here www.ctc.org.uk/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabID=3397.

Finding the right route…

Hi there, we’re already far into preparation for our cycle and today we joined the Scottish Youth Hostel Association.

We’ve been looking high and low for the best route to go by, but we just can’t seem to settle on the right one.

So we need your help!
Does anyone out there have some advice? Know a good route that we can go by?
Any ideas on the best way to combine 2 weeks of cycling with a good holiday of sight-seeing and fun?

If you have any helpfull advice of suggestions for our little excursion, please post a comment here or send us an email.
