Metfield brothers take on a gruelling cycle challenge
A duo of Suffolk born cyclists have successfully cycled the length of the UK in a bid to raise money for two charities which are very close to their hearts.
On Thursday, May 31, 15 days after they set off, John Melvin, 73 and Peter Melvin, 69, completed the gruelling 1000 mile cycle ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats. The brothers, who were both born in Metfield, near Harleston but now live in Ashfield, Nottingham and Newton, Derbyshire undertook the challenge to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
