While their we also did some telephone interviews with Lite FM and Peterborough’s Heart FM but we’re not too sure when they will get aired.
Also we would like to say a very, big thanks again to the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium for sponsoring us.
A quick update on the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium cycling jerseys, we have been giving a postal date of Monday 3rd August. Should get them 2-3 business days later. So means will be get them on the Thursday or the Friday. We really hope the Thursday, since we’re driving up to John O’Groats on Fri 7th August.
It’s not going to leave us much time at all to do PR work with the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium.
Below are the two customised cycling jerseys that we are getting made for the End to End cycle, now with the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium logo on it.
Some really great news the Peterborough Greyhound Stadium have said that they will sponsor us. If we got their logo printed on our cycling jerseys. So means they are going to pay for our cycling jerseys, so that’s going to save us £150.
More on this to follow…
We did our third and longest training cycle so far. We decided to cycle from Peterborough to London. Watch our vlog, to see if we made it all the way…
We did our first long training cycle, to get ourselves ready for doing the End to End cycle next year.
We did a 58 mile cycle. The cycle took us from Mike’s house. In the Orton Malborne, area of Peterborough. To a village called, Swavesey, which is near to Cambridge. The cycle took us 4 hours, 43 minutes and 40 seconds. With an average speed of 12.4 mph. Going by the Cateye CC-CD300DW cycling computer on Gordon’s bike.
We went to the Peterborough service station. To have a McDonalds. While there, we both made a start, on planning the cycle route between John O’Groats to Lands End.
We also made a quick list, of some of the things. We’re need for doing the cycle. The things, so far include:-
- 1st aid kit
- 3 lots of cycling clothes each
- Bike repair kit
- Bike locks
- Bike lights
- Footware – for both cycling and off bike use
- Gloves and hats
- iPod – for when not cycling
- Laptop + USB flash drive
- Pen’s + pad
- Spare battery for camera + charger
- Water containers
