Norwich environmentalists cycling for charity

Two UEA graduates from Norwich are cycling just under 1000 miles in 14 days, from Land’s End in Cornwall to John O‘Groats in Scotland, for charity.

They are among 21 cyclists from Brake the Cycle, a new social enterprise, that seeks to empower young people and encourage sustainable living through adventure and slow travel.

Hapton cyclist’s Land’s End to John O’Groats ride for Pendleside Hospice

A HAPTON man is preparing for a 1,000-mile bike ride across the UK to raise funds for Pendleside Hospice.

Mr Trevor Jennings (31), of Bridgefield Street, will set off on the two-week expedition on June 5th and cover around 75 miles a day.

Westbury cyclist’s charity trek to mark 50th birthday

Cyclist Julian Dagger, who is approaching his half-century, is hoping to ride from John O’Groats to Lands End this month in memory of his late mother and a dear friend.

Mr Dagger, 49, of The Butts, Westbury, has always wanted to attempt the epic cycle, and was inspired by the loss of family friend Derek New last year to a stroke.

Matthew pedals length of UK to help the red cross

AN ACCOUNTANT inspired by his life-saving dad is taking on the ultimate cycling challenge.

Matthew Crocker, 35, of Alexander Terrace, Colchester, is cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End to raise money for the Red Cross.
