Scotland’s cycling routes to get £6m revamp

Scotland’s cycle path network is to get a £6m revamp, which will include improvements to the Land’s End to John O’Groats route.

The famous route will be upgraded from Barnton Junction to the Forth Road Bridge.

The money will also be used to create more cycle paths in Glasgow ahead of the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

Cycling trek for David

A volunteer driver for The Bassetlaw Community Car Scheme is raising money for the charity by cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats.

David Wadsworth, 57, of Cavendish Road, Retford is hoping to raise £5000 for The Bassetlaw Action Centre by cycling the 990 miles starting on Sunday 9th September.

Baby’s plight inspires Mike to get on his bike and join first fundraiser

A BABY’S diagnosis of cystic fibrosis has inspired her father to do his first fundraising event – cycling the length of the country.

Mike Smith took 12 days to cycle from John o’Groats to Land’s End, joined by six friends for the final 60-mile leg from Bodmin.
