Try making some sort of charity fundraiser and getting the greyhound stadium onboard as a sponsor. With a good cause as the reason for four staff wanting time off, the boss might be a little more inclined to allow you time off.

Hi Gordon,
Contratulations on your ride, well done.
A most intresting and usefull site. One that i will be making the most of as July 1st 2011 on my son’s 16th birthday we start our ride and hope to finish on the 16th july (my 50th) and with us all being well my father who will be 74.

Hi Dave I have full data from them days on the Garmin Connect website. From Carlisle to Slaidburn, they are lots of hills to say the least. At one point, I was as high as 426 metres. So the highest point anywhere on the End to End cycle. It was the hardish day of the whole cycle. If I was you, I would break that day into two days. From Carlisle to Slaidburn it was not 2 bad at all. Most of the roads where very good from what I can remember. Also not many hills 2 worry about. It's best to check out the stats:- Carlisle to Slaidburn Slaidburn to Chester

I am thinking of doing a ride from Chester to Edinburgh in the summer. What were the roads like that you used between Chester and Carlisle? I also have a 705 and if you don’t mind sharing would you be able to send me your gpx file or maybe a link to the garmin connect site-if you have uploaded it!
