Teenagers on track to roll into skateboarding record books

Three teenagers who are on track to beat the UK’s distance skateboarding record by rolling from John O’Groats to Lands End travelled through the Burnham-On-Sea area on Thursday (July 15th) when they were given a Mayoral welcome.

Matt Elver (18), Charlie Mason (19) and Lee Renshaw (17) from Plymouth are undertaking the challenge to raise money for the Gogo Trust, a charitable organisation based in South Africa.

Teacher to ride 100 miles a day for children’s hospital

THE DEPUTY head of a Sunbury school will be starting his summer holidays by cycling over 1,000 miles across the country from John O’ Groats to Lands End.

Stephen Norwood, a teacher at Chennestone Primary School, will be setting off from the Scottish village on Monday (26) and will be cycling an average of 100 miles a day, to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
